About HyperGrid News
HyperGrid News exists for one reason: the OpenSimulator community deserves a central, neutral place to share news, discover events, learn new skills, and stay connected — regardless of which grid they call home.
The HyperGrid has always thrived on the spirit of openness. Independent grid operators, creative region builders, and passionate residents have built something remarkable together — a decentralized, community-owned metaverse that no single company controls. What has been missing is a shared voice. HyperGrid News is that voice.
What We Cover
We cover the full spectrum of OpenSim community life — grid announcements, in-world events, tutorials for residents and grid operators, and a growing directory of active grids across the HyperGrid. Our content comes from the community itself, submitted by grid owners, region creators, and residents who want to share what’s happening in their corner of the metaverse.
How We Work
Every grid is welcome here. Content submissions are reviewed by our editorial team and held to the same standards regardless of who submits them — including grids affiliated with our own organization. We believe the community is best served by a publication that calls things as they are, covers the good and the bad equally, and earns its credibility through consistency and fairness.
Grid owners who want to participate can designate a liaison to submit news and announcements on behalf of their community. All submissions go through editorial review before publication. There is no cost to participate.
Who We Are
HyperGrid News is published by DigiWorldz LLC, a company with nearly two decades of history in the OpenSimulator ecosystem. We have been building, operating, and contributing to virtual worlds since the early days of OpenSim — and we remain committed to the long-term health and growth of this community.
We are not here to favor any single grid, promote any single agenda, or pick sides in community disputes. We are here because we believe the HyperGrid matters, and that a well-informed, connected community is a stronger one.
