Welcome to HyperGrid News
The Voice of the HyperGrid Has Arrived
The OpenSim community has always been built on collaboration, creativity, and the shared belief that virtual worlds should be open, accessible, and community-driven. Yet for years, one thing has been missing: a central, neutral place where grid owners, region creators, and residents across the entire HyperGrid can share news, announce events, post tutorials, and stay connected with the broader community regardless of which grid they call home.
That changes today.
HyperGrid News launches as a free, community-driven publication serving the entire OpenSim ecosystem. Whether you run a grid with thousands of users or a single homestead region on a small community grid or standalone, this is your platform.
What You’ll Find Here
HyperGrid News covers the full spectrum of OpenSim community life:
- Grid News — announcements, updates, and developments from grids across the HyperGrid
- Events — community gatherings, live music, art shows, roleplay events, and more
- Tutorials — practical guides for residents, region owners, and grid operators
- Grid Listings — a growing directory of active OpenSim grids and what makes each one unique
How It Works
HyperGrid News will never show favoritism to any grid. Most content comes from the community itself. Grid owners and region creators are invited to designate a liaison — someone responsible for submitting news and announcements from their community for consideration. Every submission is reviewed by our editor before publication, and the same editorial standards apply to every grid equally.
If you represent a grid and want to become part of the HyperGrid News network, visit our Submit News page to get started.
Built for the Community, by the Community
The HyperGrid has always thrived when its communities work together rather than in isolation. HyperGrid News exists to strengthen those connections — giving every grid a voice, every resident a resource, and the broader OpenSim ecosystem a shared home base.
Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
